Turn your photos into paintings, drawings, and sketches
Posted October 22nd, 2008 by David FairI found a great tool today that allows you to turn your photos into paintings, drawings, and sketches. FotoSketcher is a free application, and it is very easy to use.
You can choose the strength of your textures and the degree of your desired effects.
Below, you can see an original photo of the Grand Marais, MN harbor along with a painting, a drawing, and a sketch that I created from it with a few clicks in FotoSketcher.
Paintings, drawings, and sketches can be printed and framed to add new texture to your décor, or use them to “dress up” newsletters and emails. In what other ways could you use these artistic creations?
UPDATE (October 23, 2008):
Well, it has been just one day since posting this article on FotoSketcher, and a newer version has been released! FotoSketcher 1.7 has been made available in a beta (test) format. A few new features have been added, like the options to add a realistic frame and text to your photos. I have tested it, and you can see the results below.
You can download FotoSketcher 1.7 here. This is a stand-alone version, which means you don’t even have to install it. Simply download it and double-click it to launch. Enjoy!
