Use Google Maps to study the Bible
Posted November 13th, 2008 by David FairFound a really cool Bible study tool online that makes use of the fantastic Google Maps service. What a creative use of technology to make a learning tool!
At BibleMap.org, you select a book of the Bible and a chapter. Then the Google Maps service moves to the location specified by that particular chapter. It annotates each city, body of water, or other geographical sites found in the selected chapter.
You can click on any underlined geographical text or any geographical marker on the map to learn more about that city, river, site, etc. It even tells you how many times that geographical location is found in the Bible. Of course, you can zoom in and out, drag the map around, and change between map styles (map only, satellite image, or a hybrid of both) just as you do when using Google Maps to find directions.
It’s already a great tool, and it’s still in its beta phase, which means it is still in development. It will only get better with time.

This is really a great site. I’ve only done a little looking around but was impressed with the information that I got with just a couple clicks of the mouse.
